After learning his story, she asks him lovingly "If you had a Mama, what would she do for you right now?" Choco goes on to tell the Bear what he needs and she acts out every deed just as he explains it. The bear comes up and wants to hear why Choco is crying. Every animal he goes up to he searches for a similar character to one he has and asks that animal "Are you my mother" After being told no by several animals, Choco is very upset and doesn't even ask the bear in front of him that question whle he sits and cries. This book is very simple and sweet and they both connected to the story very quickly.Ĭhoco is a little bird all alone and decides to find his mother. They are 3 1/2 and I felt it was time to start bringing up the topic of adoption and what it means.
I've adopted two children and both are of a different race than myself. A wonderful way to teach your child about domestic or inter-racial adoption
